Freshmen at Butler can join during formal recruitment held immediately prior to each Spring semester. This is a time for the potential new members to get to know the chapter and vice versa. Once everyone agrees that membership is a good fit, the potential new member can accept a bid to join the chapter and become a candidate for brotherhood.

LEAD
Candidacy
As a candidate (a.k.a., pledge), you will learn more about Greek life, Sigma Nu, and the Epsilon Mu Chapter through Phase I of Sigma Nu's LEAD program.

LEAD is Sigma Nu's award-winning ethical leadership development program. In alignment with Sigma Nu's continuing efforts "To develop ethical leaders..." we offer the LEAD Program as a tool to assist our membership in both gaining the knowledge and developing the skills and abilities needed to be an effective and ethical leader for life.

Once candidates have completed LEAD Phase I, they are eligible to be initiated as a brother in Sigma Nu. Membership is for life and we encourage members to remain engaged with their chapter and the general fraternity past graduation.
